Excellent excellent timely post. And yes, I always switch the lights off, I recycle like mad, and I really don't see why there need to be so many SUV's in the world. But thanks for this--especially in the context of the G8 whatnot, it might help to remind us that the absolute greediest, most harmful, most despoiling forces loose in our world are actually these same people trying to "save" us. What we really need is saving from THEM.
you are welcome WM. I think solar and other alternative sources of energy is the next big thing. A guy i know test drove the ford hybrid SUV - escape, they get 80 miles to the gallon and u know he bought the car.
WM & Afromusing, fully agree with you. Less SUV guzzlers, the more we save, the lesser the pollution as well. About the hybrid, I had that experience (not the SUV,lol!)last summer when on a lengthy cross-state roadtrip in a Toyota Prius. Plz give it a try if when you can. You won't care how expensive gas is since the elec engine kicks in whenever you don't need as much gas.
